History of TAACAL
In the fall of 1992 a group of African-American community action leaders from the National Association of Community Action Agencies met and organized The African-American Community Action Leaders to focus on the special needs of African-American communities and to bolster the management skills needed to grow and develop a new generation of competent community action executives and managers. The African American Community Action Leaders association reflects the consensus among African American community action leaders of the urgent need for a national vehicle to effectively confront the pervasive challenges facing America’s urban and rural communities.
