Our Mission

“To develop and strengthen African-American Community Action Leadership; to affect public policy on behalf of economically disadvantaged African-Americans” TAACAL aims to provide a national forum for policy on poverty as it relates to low-income communities and to provide leadership and professional development for community action executives committed to creatingstrategic partnerships and synergistic programs and services to eliminate urban poverty.

Our Vision

A National Network of African-American Community Action professionals, promoting and providing Leadership Development and Influencing Public Policy.  TAACAL envisions a network of CAAs that fully understand the relationship and impact of public policy on the conditions of poor communities and are mobilized and professionally equipped to affect systemic change.   TAACAL aims to equip committed CA professionals with the full achievement of professional standards and best practices in the management and operation of CAAs.  TAACAL envisions providing effective leadership in several areas critical to CAAs and the customers they serve.
